* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey, including the following
counties, Hudson and Union and southeast New York, including the
following counties, Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), Nassau, New York
(Manhattan), Queens and Richmond (Staten Island).
* WHEN...Until 145 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1152 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Jersey City, Jamaica, Elizabeth, Flatbush, Flushing, Bayonne,
Mott Haven, Hoboken, Linden, Valley Stream, Long Beach, Coney
Island, Lynbrook, Woodmere, Rockaway Beach, Todt Hill, Crown
Heights, The Verrazano Narrows Bridge, Midtown Manhattan and
RFK Bridge.
