* WHAT...For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low
as 49 below expected. For the Extreme Cold Watch, dangerously cold
wind chills as low as 52 below possible.
* WHERE...Portions of north central, northwest, and west central
Minnesota and northeast and southeast North Dakota.
* WHEN...For the Cold Weather Advisory, from midnight tonight to
noon CST Thursday. For the Extreme Cold Watch, from Thursday
afternoon through Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 50 below zero
could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 5 minutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Reduced visibility from blowing snow and
hazardously cold wind chills may create hazardous travel
conditions Thursday.
Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.
Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves. Carry a winter survival kit in your vehicle.
