An Air Quality Alert has been issued by the following agencies:
Washington Department of Ecology
Colville Confederated Tribes
Environmental Protection Agency
Spokane Regional Clean Air Agency
An Air Quality Alert has been issued for Asotin, Chelan, Douglas,
Ferry, Okanogan, Pend Oreille, and Stevens Counties until further
notice due to current and expected wildfire smoke from regional
fires. Extremely critical fire weather Saturday will produce
significant smoke from ongoing and emerging fires. Particulate matter
(PM2.5) may reach unhealthy levels through the weekend, especially in
areas downwind from active wildfires in Washington, Oregon, and
British Columbia.
An Air Quality Alert has also been issued for Grant, Lincoln, and
Spokane counties until further notice due to expected smoke impacts
from ongoing and emerging fires. Shifting winds will likely bring
smoke into these counties beginning Saturday evening. PM2.5 may reach
unhealthy levels.
When air quality is unhealthy, everyone should reduce exposure.
Limit time outside, avoid strenuous outdoor activity, and follow tips
for cleaner indoor air.
