* WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey, including the following
areas, Eastern Bergen, Eastern Essex, Eastern Passaic, Eastern
Union, Hudson, Western Bergen, Western Essex, Western Passaic and
Western Union and southeast New York, including the following
areas, Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), New York (Manhattan), Northern
Nassau, Northern Queens, Northwest Suffolk, Richmond (Staten
Island), Southern Nassau, Southern Queens, Southern Westchester and
Southwest Suffolk.
* WHEN...From 2 PM EDT this afternoon through late tonight.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A period of heavy rainfall is possible as showers and potential
thunderstorms move through the area. Peak hourly rainfall rates
could reach around 2 inches. Average rainfall amounts are
expected to be between 1.5 and 2.5 inches with locally higher
amounts possible.
