Coastal Flood Advisory issued September 25 at 12:35PM EDT until September 27 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Boston/Norton MA
* WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level
expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal
waterways (5.6 to 7.2 feet Mean Lower Low Water).
* WHERE...Washington, Southern Bristol MA, Southern Plymouth MA,
Southeast Providence RI, Eastern Kent RI, Bristol RI, and
Newport RI Counties.
* WHEN...From 5 PM this afternoon to 8 PM EDT Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Splashover and Minor coastal flooding is expected in
the lowest lying areas along the south coast of Rhode Island and
Massachusetts over multiple high tide cycles late today through
this weekend. A few immediate coastal roads may briefly flood
due to wave action. In addition...minor beach erosion is also
possible.
If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.
