* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey, including the following
counties, Hudson and Union and southeast New York, including the
following counties, Kings (Brooklyn), Nassau, New York
(Manhattan), Queens and Richmond (Staten Island).
* WHEN...Until 830 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 657 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain
has fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Jersey City, Jamaica, Elizabeth, Flatbush, Bayonne, Freeport,
Linden, Valley Stream, Long Beach, Coney Island, Garden City,
Lynbrook, Woodmere, Rockaway Beach, Todt Hill, Crown Heights,
Kennedy Airport, The Verrazano Narrows Bridge, Huguenot and
Forest Hills.
