* WHAT...Peak heat index values will range from the upper 90s up to
102 degrees this afternoon.
* WHERE...Portions of north central, northeast, and northwest Ohio.
* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Overnight lows tonight will only drop to the
low to mid 70s which will provide limited nighttime relief from the
heat. Hot and humid conditions will continue on Thursday, and
portions of the Heat Advisory may need to be extended.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
