At 401 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts
was located over Jetty Park, or over Port Canaveral, moving northeast
at 10 knots.
HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to 40 knots.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Waterspouts can can quickly form and capsize boats, damage
vessels and create locally hazardous seas. Make sure all on
board are wearing life jackets. Expect wind gusts in excess
of 34 knots, suddenly higher waves, lightning and heavy
downpours. Make sure all on board are wearing life jackets.
Return to safe harbor if possible.

Port Canaveral, Jetty Park, Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach, and Merritt
Island.
Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily
overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor
immediately.
Frequent cloud to water lightning is occurring with this storm. If
caught on the open water stay below deck and, if possible, avoid
ungrounded metal objects. Remember, lightning can strike beyond 10
miles away from a thunderstorm.
