...BLIZZARD CONDITIONS CONTINUE ACROSS SOUTHERN AND WESTERN
MINNESOTA...
...TRAVEL IS NOT ADVISED...
.Light to moderate snow will continue through the rest of the evening
and taper off overnight. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3
inches are expected on top of the 4 to 6 inches that has fallen
today. In addition, strong northwest winds gusting to 40 to 50 mph
are expected overnight, leading to a continuation of blizzard
conditions in open areas of western and southern Minnesota through
early Monday morning.
A Blizzard Warning is in effect west of a line from Long Prairie to
St. Cloud, the southwest Twin Cities metro, and Albert Lea. A Winter
Storm Warning is in effect for the rest of eastern Minnesota and
western Wisconsin.
* WHAT...Heavy snow and blowing snow. Additional snow accumulations
between 1 and 3 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
* WHERE...Portions of east central and southeast Minnesota and
northwest and west central Wisconsin.
* WHEN...Until 9 AM CST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Widespread blowing snow
could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions
will impact the Monday morning commute. Gusty winds could bring
down tree branches.
