Winter Weather Advisory issued January 18 at 2:35PM EST until January 19 at 7:00PM EST by NWS Northern Indiana
* WHAT...Lake effect snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow
accumulations ranging from 2 to 4 inches north of the Toll Road,
to 1 to 2 inches south of the Toll Road. Blowing and drifting
snow, especially late tonight through mid afternoon Monday.
Visibilities of less than one quarter of a mile due to snow and
blowing snow are possible at times, with the greatest impacts
expected along and north of the Toll Road. Winds gusting as high
as 35 mph.
* WHERE...Eastern St. Joseph IN, Elkhart, Northern La Porte, and
Western St. Joseph IN Counties.
* WHEN...From 7 PM EST /6 PM CST/ this evening to 7 PM EST /6 PM
CST/ Monday.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road
conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday
morning commute.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Low visibility will be possible from falling
snow and gusty winds. Use caution will driving and increase your
following distance. Cold temperatures combined with the gusty
winds will produce wind chills of 10 below to 15 below on Monday.
