Extreme Heat Warning issued June 28 at 3:12PM CDT until June 30 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with daytime heat index values
up to 107 each day and overnight heat index values only in the
upper 70s expected.
* WHERE...Portions of east central, south central, and southeast
Wisconsin.
* WHEN...From noon Monday to 7 PM CDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat and high humidity events.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heat index values along the lakeshore will be
a few degrees cooler, but still expecting higher heat index values
just inland from Lake Michigan.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
