* WHAT...For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously cold wind chills
in the single digits above zero this morning. For the Lake Wind
Advisory, northwest winds 15 to 25 knots with gusts up to 30 knots
and waves 2 to 3 feet. For the Cold Weather Advisory tonight, very
cold wind chills in the lower to mid teens.
* WHERE...Inland Berkeley County.
* WHEN...For the Extreme Cold Warning, until 1 PM EST this afternoon.
For the Lake Wind Advisory, until 10 AM EST this morning. For the
Cold Weather Advisory, from 6 PM this evening to 9 AM EST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Strong winds and rough waves on Lake Moultrie will create
hazardous conditions for small craft. An extended period of
freezing temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The combination of gusty winds and
sub-freezing temperatures may result in areas of freezing spray
over the lake and along the lakeshore.
Boaters on Lake Moultrie should use extra caution since strong winds
and rough waves can overturn small craft.
Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go
outside.
Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.
