as low as 30 to 35 below zero expected. For the Cold Weather
Advisory, very cold wind chills as low as 15 to 30 below expected.
* WHERE...Central Cook County.
* WHEN...For the Extreme Cold Warning, from 3 AM to noon CST Friday.
For the Cold Weather Advisory, from noon Friday to 9 AM CST
Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on
exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.
Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.
Residents of the city of Chicago can call 3 1 1 to request well
being checks for elderly friends or family members, or for
information on finding the nearest warming center.
To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to
drip slowly.
Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
