Flash Flood Warning issued August 7 at 7:25PM EDT until August 7 at 9:00PM EDT by NWS Upton NY
At 725 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms produced heavy
rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1/2 inch are possible in
the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing, but should gradually
recede over the next hour.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Newark, Jersey City, Jamaica, Yonkers, Paterson, Elizabeth,
Flatbush, New Rochelle, Flushing, Passaic, Bayonne, White Plains,
Wayne, Mott Haven, Hoboken, Bloomfield, East Tremont, Hackensack,
Linden and Orange.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
