Flash Flood Warning issued September 3 at 9:46PM EDT until September 3 at 11:30PM EDT by NWS Buffalo NY
At 946 PM EDT, while the heavy rain that produced between 2 and 3.5
inches of rain within the warned area earlier this evening has since
ended. local law enforcement reported that some area roadways remain
flooded. Flooding impacts will continue for a while longer, but no
additional rainfall is expected.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Buffalo, Cheektowaga, Kenmore, Depew, Amherst, Tonawanda,
Lancaster, Williamsville and Grand Island.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
