* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...Portions of central, northern, northwest, and western
Virginia, including the following areas, Albemarle, Central
Virginia Blue Ridge, Greene, Orange, Culpeper, Madison, Northern
Virginia Blue Ridge, Page, Rappahannock, Shenandoah, and
Rockingham.
* WHEN...Until midnight EDT tonight.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water
crossings may be flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Several rounds of slow moving showers and thunderstorms are
expected to move across Central Virginia and parts of the
Shenandoah Valley through late this evening. Around 1 to 3
inches of rain have already fallen in parts of the Watch
area. Additional rain amounts of 2 to 4 inches are likely for
some locations, with isolated higher totals possible if
thunderstorms become stalled.
