* WHAT...1 to 1 1/2 ft, locally 2 ft, of inundation above ground
level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and
shoreline. The highest water levels likely with the Monday
morning high tide.
* WHERE...Bronx, Northwest Suffolk, Northern Queens and Northern
Nassau Counties.
* WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 2 PM EDT Monday.
* COASTAL IMPACTS...Minor coastal flooding is expected in the most
vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Expect
1 to 1 1/2 ft, locally 2 ft, of inundation above ground level.
Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks,
lawns and homes/businesses with basements near the waterfront
will experience shallow flooding.
* SHOREFRONT AND BEACH IMPACTS...Breaking waves of 2 to 4 feet,
along with elevated water levels, will result in scattered areas
of dune erosion and splashover, which could locally exacerbate
flooding of roadways and vulnerable structures.
If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.
