Thunderstorm Warning issued at 4:30 p.m. on 6 Jul 2026 has been extended until 8:30 p.m. today.
A few severe squally thunderstorms are expected to occur over Hong Kong.
Violent gusts of around 100 kilometres per hour were recorded at Green Island at around 5:35 p.m.
Violent gusts reaching 100 kilometres per hour or above may continue to affect Hong Kong.
Members of the public are advised to take the following precautions when thunderstorms occur:
1. Seek safe shelter immediately if you are outdoors.
2. Leave the water. Do not swim outdoors or engage in other outdoor water sports.
3. Do not stand on high ground. Keep away from highly conductive objects, trees or masts.
4. Take precautions against violent gusts. Beware of flying debris and falling objects.
5. Drivers using highways and flyovers should reduce speed to be alert to violent gusts.
