Location of eye/center : The center of Tropical Storm PILANDOK was estimated based on all available data at at 1,070 km East Northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon (24.1, 131.6).
Strength : Maximum winds of 75 kph near the centerand gustiness of up to 90 kph.

Severe Winds
The Southwest Monsoon will bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas (especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds):
Today until Friday (04 September): Most of Luzon and Visayas, Zamboanga del Norte, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Oriental, Camiguin, Dinagat Islands, Davao Occidental, and Davao Oriental.
HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS
A Gale Warning is in effect over the northern and western seaboards of Northern Luzon. For more details, refer to Gale Warning No. 4 issued at 5:00 PM today.
24-Hour Sea Condition Outlook
Up to very rough seas over the following coastal waters:
Up to 4.5 m: The seaboards of Batanes; the northern and western seaboards of Babuyan Islands; the northern seaboard of Ilocos Norte.
Sea travel is risky for all types or tonnage of vessels. All mariners must remain in port or, if underway, seek shelter or safe harbor as soon as possible until winds and waves subside.
Up to rough seas over the following coastal waters:
Up to 4.0 m: The remaining seaboard of Ilocos Norte; the seaboards of Ilocos Sur; the western seaboard of Pangasinan.
Up to 3.5 m: The seaboard of La Union and Zambales; the western seaboard of Bataan; the northern and western seaboards of Lubang Islands.
Up to 3.0 m: The remaining seaboards of Babuyan Islands and Lubang Islands; the northern and western seaboards of Calamian Islands and Kalayaan Islands; the southern seaboard of Bataan; the western seaboards of Cavite, Batangas, and northern Occidental Mindoro.
Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced or operating ill-equipped vessels.
Up to moderate seas over the following coastal waters:
Up to 2.5 m: The seaboards of Isabela and southern Surigao del Sur; the remaining western seaboard of Palawan; the eastern seaboard of Davao Oriental; the remaining seaboards of La Union, Pangasinan, and Kalayaan Islands; the northern seaboard of mainland Cagayan; the remaining western seaboard of Occidental Mindoro.
Up to 2.0 m: The seaboards of northern Aurora, Romblon, Cuyo Islands, Cagayancillo Islands, Antique, and Davao Occidental; the southern seaboards of Quezon, Marinduque, Camarines Sur, Iloilo, and Guimaras; the eastern and southern seaboards of Oriental Mindoro; the western seaboard of southern Negros Occidental; the remaining seaboards of mainland Cagayan, northern Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental.
Mariners of motorbancas and similarly sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions.
Other coastal waters have forecast wave heights of less than 2.0 m.
TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK
It must be emphasized that heavy rainfall and severe winds may still be experienced in localities outside the landfall point and the forecast confidence cone. Refer to “Other Hazards affecting Land Areas” for more details. Furthermore, the track may still shift within the limit of the forecast confidence cone.
PILANDOK is forecast to move northwestward and exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by tomorrow (03 September) early morning. Outside the PAR, this tropical cyclone will continue moving northwestward towards southern Japan. Beginning Friday (04 September) until Sunday (06 September), it will remain almost stationary then move generally southward, looping over the area of Okinawa-Amami islands. Afterwards, it will move east northeastward by Monday (07 September).
PILANDOK is forecast remain as a tropical storm throughout the entire forecast period.
