Winter Storm Warning issued January 19 at 4:22PM EST until January 21 at 4:00PM EST by NWS Buffalo NY
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow and blowing snow expected. Total
snow accumulations 2 to 4 feet in the most persistent bands. Winds
gusting as high as 45 mph creating blowing and drifting snow and
at times white out conditions. Snowfall rates may reach 3 to 5
inches per hour at times in the most intense bands.
* WHERE...The Eastern Lake Ontario Region. The greatest snow
accumulations will be across southern Jefferson County, extreme
northern Oswego County, and western Lewis County.
* WHEN...Until 4 PM EST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult to nearly impossible
within the heaviest lake effect snowbands. The hazardous
conditions will impact the Monday evening and Tuesday morning
commutes. Gusty winds will down tree branches and cause isolated
power outages.
Heavy lake effect snow will create dangerous to nearly impossible
travel conditions.
