Lake Effect Snow Warning issued January 28 at 9:49PM EST until January 29 at 7:00PM EST by NWS Buffalo NY
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Addtional accumulations of 3 to 5
inches possible across Jefferson and Lewis counties, with 6 to 12
inches possible in the most persistent lake snows across Northern
Cayuga county. An additional 1 to 2 feet across Oswego County
through Thursday.
* WHERE...Northern Cayuga, Oswego, Jefferson, and Lewis Counties.
* WHEN...Until 7 PM EST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult. The hazardous conditions
will impact the Thursday morning and evening commutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Lake snows will continue to impact Jefferson
and Lewis Counties late this evening, then will move back
southward across the Tug Hill and into Oswego County where it will
reside overnight with the greatest impacts. Additional lake snows
will continue southeast of the lake on Thursday.
Heavy snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be
prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities.
