Winter Weather Advisory issued January 11 at 8:46PM EST until January 13 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Buffalo NY
* WHAT...Lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations 6 to 10
inches in the most persistent lake snows across the Tug Hill
Plateau, and 2 to 4 inches for surrounding lower elevations. Winds
gusting as high as 40 mph will produce blowing and drifting snow.
* WHERE...The Eastern Lake Ontario Region. The greatest additional
accumulations will be across the Tug Hill Plateau.
* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Tuesday. Light snow this evening will
diminish to just scattered light snow showers overnight. Lake
effect snow will increase in intensity again Monday morning and
continue through Monday night.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be difficult with snow covered roads and
reduced visibility at times. The hazardous conditions will impact
the Monday evening commute.
Lake effect snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling,
be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities.
