THURSDAY...
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...Niihau, Kauai, and Oahu.
* WHEN...Through Thursday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow of
streams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, along
with property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff.
Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Bands of showers and thunderstorms associated with a front
approaching the islands from the northwest will move over the
western end of the state and stall beginning tonight. A
favorable environment for locally heavy showers and
occasional thunderstorms over the next couple of days,
combined with already saturated ground from rainfall received
earlier this week, will result in flooding concerns for the
islands of Kauai County and for the island of Oahu.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
