Flood Advisory issued January 4 at 1:57PM HST until January 4 at 5:15PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...The island of Oahu in Honolulu County.
* WHEN...Until 515 PM HST.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
streams. Some low-water crossings may become impassable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 153 PM HST, radar indicated areas of heavy rain continuing
to develop and drift over Oahu. The heaviest rain is
currently over the southern half of the island, but
additional pockets of heavy rain are likely to develop over
the remainder of the island during the next few hours. Rain
was falling at a rate of 0.5 to 2 inches per hour.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Honolulu, Waipio, Mililani, Pearl City, Waikele, Wahiawa,
Wheeler Field, Waipahu, Aiea, Kunia, Halawa, Waiahole,
Waikane, Schofield Barracks, Salt Lake, Kahaluu, Moanalua,
Ahuimanu, Iroquois Point and Ewa Beach.
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.
A Flood Watch is also in effect for the entire state through Monday
afternoon.
