* WHAT...An extended period of stagnant air, with light winds and
little vertical mixing. This is due to an inversion near the
surface that will trap pollutants in the valleys.
* WHERE...In the valleys of south central and southwest Idaho and
northeast and southeast Oregon below 5000 feet MSL.
* WHEN...From 6 PM MST /5 PM PST/ Sunday to 10 AM MST /9 AM PST/
Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Poor air quality may cause issues for people with
respiratory problems.
Persons with respiratory illness should follow their physicians
advice for dealing with high levels of air pollution during periods
of stagnant air.
