* WHAT...Hot temperatures of 100 to 105 degrees are expected with
low temperatures in the low to mid 60s.
* WHERE...Eastern Curry County, Josephine County and Jackson County,
the Rogue, Illinois and Applegate valleys, including Medford,
Grants Pass, Ashland, Ruch and Cave Junction.
* WHEN...Until 11 PM PDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures will lead to a moderate risk of heat
illnesses, especially for those without adequate cooling methods.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Periods of smoke could limit the ability to
open windows for cooler air at night.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
