Disruptive Rain
Localised flooding of susceptible formal/informal settlements or roads, low lying areas and bridges is expected.
Minor motor vehicle accidents due to slippery roads and reduced visibility can be expected as well as difficult driving conditions on dirt roads. This may lead to longer travel times.
Localised mudslides and rockfalls is possible.
Be cautious on the roads and avoid crossing rivers and swollen streams where water is above your ankles. If trapped in a vehicle during a flood, abandon it and climb to higher ground. In buildings, move valuables to a safe place above the expected flood level. Switch off electricity at the supply point to the building. NEVER drive on a road covered by water. If the vehicle stalls, leave it immediately and seek higher ground.
