* WHAT...Widespread light to moderate snow this afternoon into this
evening. Additional snow accumulations 1 to 2 inches. Lake effect
snow develops Thursday and lasts through Friday. Accumulations of
5 to 10 inches within the most persist bands. Winds gusting as
high as 40 mph.
* WHERE...Erie, Genesee, and Wyoming Counties.
* WHEN...Until 1 PM EST Friday.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be difficult. The hazardous conditions will
impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Lake effect snow will develop behind the
Arctic front Thursday with moderate accumulations expected east
and northeast of the lake.
Snow will result in snow covered roads and limited visibilities.
Slow down and use caution while driving.

During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally
heavy snow with greatly reduced visibilities to dry conditions just
