Snow squalls likely tonight into Monday
What:
Local snowfall amounts of 20 to 40 cm, particularly over southern Niagara Region.
Poor visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow.
When:
Beginning this evening and continuing into Monday.
The worst conditions are expected overnight and Monday.
Additional information:
Lake effect snow off Lake Erie is expected to develop today and intensify tonight. The highest accumulations are expected close to Lake Erie, particularly over southern Niagara Region. The lake effect bands may occasionally extend into northern Niagara Region, but confidence of this occurring in this area is lower.
Southwest winds gusting up to 70 or 80 km/h near Lake Erie on Monday will create areas of blowing snow giving poor visibility.
The activity should move south of the regions late Monday, but may return Tuesday into Wednesday.
